And The Most Influence Flash Site of The Decade Is…
Seperti perkiraan saya website 2Advanced v3 Expansions (2001) menjadi Flash site yg paling berpengaruh. Lihat info disini
Bagaimana tidak flash site karya Eric Jordan ini adalah yg paling sering di RIP atau paling tidak jadi panutan dalam mendesain flash site. Stylenya begitu mewabah
.
Selamat buat 2Advanced

10 years of Flash and the Evolutions
Flash and the Evolutions
Tidak terasa sudah 10 tahun flash hadir dengan berbagai fitur dan evolusinya sehingga hingga kini hampir 98,9% komputer di dunia terinstall Flash Player plugins.
Flash yg awalnya cuman tools utk animasi sekarang dgn gagahnya menjelma menjadi tools programming tanpa menghilangkan ide awal yaitu Flash sbg tools utk gambar dan animasi.
Pihak Adobe yg mengambil Macromedia jg telah membuat microsite tentang 10 years of Flash and the Evolutions.
Flash and Me
My Classics Flash
Setelah hunting akhirnya saya mendapatkan beberapa karya Flash saya di jaman bahula dimana waktu itu Flash masih sekadar utk animasi dan just for fun, namun demikian walaupun just for fun awalnya tp hasil utak atik dgn flash lah yg saya pakai jadi portofolio utk mendapatkan kerjaan hehehe. Ini beberapa diantaranya:
1. In the begining
2. Jump to Flash 5
3. Inspired by Rahadian
4. Experiment with Flash 5
Kini setelah lebih dari 5 tahun harus saya akui bahwa saya hidup dari Flash dan variannya
such are: Flash Media Server ( Flash Communication Server ) pun Flash Remoting. Mulai dari proyek Flash Games, website, CD-Interactive sampai Flash application.
Terima kasih Flash semoga makin keren aja

Bitmapdata / Image Compression Techniques Solutions for Flash 8
Maybe you already know that we can save bitmap data into image file in flash 8 by using bitmapdata class. Mario Klingemann also did is with his BitmapExporter class.
The problem when you try to do save / sent bitmap data from flash to server is the compression. If you try to sent large data to server oftenly (each minute) then your server will do complex job to parsing the data into image and some times your flash will look or may be hang because of it. The solutions for this thing is compression rules!
Talking about the compression Koen De Weggheleire has a great idea about it. He explained to us about how we can compress the image data as well as RLE and LZW compression. With this method you even can have compression ratio 1.56. wow!!

Adobe Apollo : Flash beyond the browser
Has informed before that Adobe currently develop software project to replace of Macromedia Central. The product with codename Apollo will make Flash run outside browser is the same like Macromedia Central but should be more advanced
.
Apollo programs will function when a person is offline and automatically update data when the user gets back online. For example, a person could book an airline ticket from a handheld or laptop offline; when the person reconnects to a network, the software will complete the transaction.
Apollo is designed to give developers a way to create applications that can render Flash animations as well as HTML and Acrobat files (PDF). That approach preserves the benefits of the Web but allows room for programs that can’t be included now, Lynch said.

Flex + FMS + Ajax = Google Maps Collaboration!

Google Maps Collaboration by Cristophe Coenraets
Really cool RIA by Cristophe Coenraets. Using combination of Flex, Flash Media Server and AJAX he successfully build Google Maps Collaboration.
The full version of the applications enabled to download here. This application requires the Flex Data Services for pub/sub messaging, and the Flash Media Server for media streaming.

Streaming Versus Progressive Download
Progressive download is a method of video delivery in which a video file starts to play, after a short buffer period, while it is being downloaded to the client’s computer. It’s easy to deploy video in this manner because it requires nothing more than a web server. It also provides a good experience (especially with short videos that don’t need long buffering times). Because the video is downloaded to the client’s computer, it allows the end user to rewatch the video without having to download it again.
Streaming video, by contrast, sends video in real time to a client machine, which plays the video as it is received and then discards it. A streaming server such as Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX can establish an intelligent connection with the client to allow the video to respond to the network connection and client requests. Because streamed video starts fast, plays in real time, and allows users to access different parts of the video immediately without first downloading the entire the video file beforehand, it’s a great solution for long-playing videos, live video broadcasts, and applications that interact extensively with users.
